What to do with your kids in the UK this summer holiday

Either you’ve begun your school holidays already or will be embarking on them very very soon and are staring at the weeks of summer ahead and wondering what to do. We’ve done a search for the best summer activities in the four beautiful countries of the UK for your kids. So let’s keep our fingers crossed for a continuation of this gorgeous weather and some good behaviour! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

England

The Deep, Yorkshire
The Deep is one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world and an international player in marine conservation. There are always lots of exciting events taking place alongside daily talks, presentations and dive shows. During the holidays they’re holding ‘Turtle-y Awesome Summer’ activities, which include getting up close and personal with a turtle, taking part in a turtle trail and enjoying interactive presentations from the aquarium’s guiding team.

Jurassic Journey, Great Yarmouth
Become a trainee palaeontologist at this fabulous dinosaur museum, which includes installations of animated dinosaurs with electronic moving parts and lots of other interesting and interactive displays.

Northern Ireland

Pickie Family Fun Park, Bangor
Traditional seaside fun and games.  Attractions include swan pedalos, mini golf, electric cars, water walkers and a miniature train.

Exploris Aquarium, Portaferry
A sunken galleon, friendly sharks and a snappy crocodile all star in Northern Ireland’s only aquarium and seal rehabilitation centre.

Scotland

Kelburn Castle, North Ayrshire
A castle in the beautiful Scottish countryside of North Ayrshire. Kelburn is putting on a fabulous host of activities for children including pony rides, face painting and soft play with themes including Daring Dinosaurs, Wild West, Awesome Animals and Mythical Monsters.

Glasgow Riverside Museum, Glasgow
An award-winning transport museum with dozens of interactive displays. Children can get a feel for real old public transport by hopping on board a train, tram or bus in Glasgow’s old streets.

Wales

Folly Farm, Pembrokeshire
There are always lots of exciting events at Folly Farm. Every day there are free timetabled events, including zoo animal talks and animal encounters in the Jolly Barn. They’ve also scheduled Pirate Shows and magic shows for the summer holidays.

Antur Outdoor, Neath
Specialising in coasteering and canyoning in South Wales, the attraction near Neath also offers rock climbing as a fun family day out.
